This printable checklist is designed for a one-month winter stay in the Algarve, with a focus on comfort, daily walking, and relaxed slow travel. It’s meant to be practical and realistic — something you can actually use while packing. This checklist pairs with my full guide on what to pack for a month in the Algarve in winter, where I explain the climate, layering strategy, and what you can comfortably leave at home.

You don’t need heavy winter gear here. You do need layers, wind protection, and good walking shoes.

☐ 3–4 long-sleeve tops

☐ 2 lightweight sweaters or fleeces

☐ 1 very warm knit sweater

☐ 2 short-sleeve t-shirts

☐ 2 pairs of jeans or everyday trousers

☐ 1 pair of lightweight walking or hiking trousers

☐ 1 pair of leggings or thermal base layer

Jackets & Outer Layers

☐ Lightweight insulated jacket

☐ Windproof / water-resistant outer jacket

☐ Optional thin base layer

☐ Optional packable rain shell

Footwear

☐ Waterproof walking shoes or light hiking boots

☐ Comfortable everyday walking shoes

☐ Casual shoes or sandals☐ 5–7 pairs of warm socks (wool or merino blend)

Accessories

☐ Lightweight scarf (for wind protection)

☐ Compact umbrella

☐ Sunglasses

☐ Hat or cap (sun + wind)

☐ Small daypack

Sleep & Indoor Comfort

Many Algarve rentals are designed for summer and can feel cool inside in winter.

☐ Pyjamas suitable for cool nights

☐ Warm lounge socks

☐ Travel slippers (tile floors get cold)

Toiletries & Health

☐ Daily moisturiser

☐ Lip balm with SPF

☐ Sunscreen (yes, even in winter)

☐ Personal medications (full supply)

☐ Small first-aid kit

Tech & Practical Items

☐ Phone and charging cables

☐ Portable power bank

☐ Universal plug adapter (Type C/F)

☐ Headlamp or small torch (useful for evening walks)

☐ Reusable shopping bag

Optional but Useful for a Month

☐ Lightweight yoga mat or resistance band

☐ Compact binoculars (excellent coastal birdlife)

☐ Books or e-reader

☐ Journal or notebook

☐ Small travel clothesline or laundry clips

One Final Tip

Before booking, confirm your accommodation has heating or air-conditioning with heat mode — many Algarve rentals are designed for summer, not winter nights.
